History & Future

Greenwood Lake Theater is Orange County's only Equity Professional Theater company and had its humble beginnings in New York City as Mercia Entertainment in 2011. In 2013 our company was awarded non-profit status, and over the last 8 years we have produced fundraisers, cabarets, readings, outdoor Shakespeare, and our 4th summer musical. Once the company shifted to Orange County, NY, it was renamed and rebranded as Greenwood Lake Theater to better reflect the community. Our growth has led to our current partnership with the Warwick Historical Society. Their beautiful venue, the Old School Baptist Meeting House has been home to our last two live performances with plans to host many more in this beautiful space. In 2021, we will celebrate 10 years as a non-profit organization and 5 years in our current home of Warwick, NY.
